A large field of runners tackled the Lindsay Kent
Memorial Sealed Handicap, and 8km Championship
race, held near the Stawell Airport.
In what will
now be an annual event, both Stawell Amateur Athletic
Club and the Ararat and Stawell Cross Country Club
combined races for the day, with a teams event
between the two clubs.
Unfortunately, not having the ASCCC runners results
at hand, this report only covers the SAAC runners.
Twenty-seven senior SAAC runners headed off over
the bushland course, with Col Barnett the first
to reappear and cross the line first, taking out
the senior championship section in a time of 32min
37sec.
